In an effort to learn and mingle with the greater design community, HyperQuake took an inspirational trip to New York to attend Gain: AIGA Business and Design Conference.

Speakers at the event included leaders in the design world as well as innovators in understanding consumer culture who discussed the business behind design. A number of presentations examined the importance of the consumer and giving insight on how to learn by way of ethnography, Jungian archetypes norms, anthropologic research, and directly involving your demographic.

Laura Granka (Design for Democracy) and Brian Collins (Aspen Design Challenge) discussed how design thinking can contribute to the public good and even solve some of the world’s greatest challenges such as the global water crisis.

The trip was both inspirational and empowering. As always, NYC provided a high-energy, eclectic experience to further inspire our work. Discovering that our group thinks, innovates and creates brands and experiences impacting consumer behavior is once again fulfilling.
