Our first 30 years.

By Dan Barczak

In the summer of 1986, Steve & Jeanne Bruce decided to take a leap of faith to venture out on their own and start a design agency that would one day become known as Hyperquake. 2016 marks an amazing 30 years of refining our craft and evolving brands. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to work with an incredible array of people – friends, clients, vendors, and “Quakers” – a term of endearment for our amazingly talented employees.

EVOLVE OR FADE AWAY.

We wholeheartedly believe in the notion of evolution, and shifting with the world around us. As Geoff Teehan and John Lax wrote before turning the page on their next agency chapter (Facebook): “All companies are in a continual process of evolution and reinvention. Companies not going through some version of this are companies in decline.” We couldn’t agree more.

And while we have always believed in each other, hard work, and keeping our heads down at times, it’s time we look up – to take a step back and see what we’ve done over the last 30 years. This year, we will be posting moments throughout the year that mean something to us – stories, opportunities, relationships, and design – moments that have made us who we are today, and will continue to make us who we are tomorrow. For small glimpses from our first client to our first computer, follow our journey on Instagram throughout the year.

To everyone who has been and continues to be a part of the Hyperquake story, thank you for an unbelievable first 30 years. Here’s to 30 more.
