IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

National Museum of the American Latino

A future-ready interactive framework for rotating exhibitions at NMAL

The Molina Family Latino Gallery opened with a bold mission: reveal the depth, diversity, and essential place of Latino history within the American story. Rather than creating digital moments tied only to the inaugural exhibition, we built an adaptable interactive system—one capable of supporting NMAL’s evolving stories long after ¡Presente! closes.

Designed for bilingual clarity, full accessibility, and seamless content updates, this framework empowers the museum to bring new perspectives to life through dynamic, enduring media experiences.

100%
of gallery interactives fully accessible to visitors with differing abilities
We worked closely with Smithsonian’s internal Accessibility office and its deep well of expert users and volunteers of differing abilities, listening to their needs through all phases of the project to ensure that all interactives adhere to the highest standards of accessibility. English and Spanish are presented on equal footing. All text and captions are shown in both languages at all times. All touch experiences are paired with a tactile keypad and screen reader that allows visitors who are blind, have low vision, or limited mobility to navigate the interface.
